ADMINISTRATION (75%)
1.Provide technical assistance and resources to all public Illinois colleges and universities to ensure compliance with the Mental Health Early Action on Campus Act responsibilities for the ICC TAC.
2.Provide technical assistance within the ICC TAC to reduce administrative barriers and undue burden on students accessing mental health services.
3.Provide tailored support to public colleges or universities in reviewing policies related to college students living with mental health conditions and provide recommendations for statewide standards and best practices as appropriate.
4.Collect, analyze, and disseminate mental health needs data to meet the requirements of the Mental Health Early Action on Campus Act, as appropriate, in partnership with the IBHE and ICCB.
5.Establish relationships and partnerships with mental health entities and other external partners throughout the state to increase access to mental health services. Meet regularly and facilitate meetings with these partners to develop, implement and manage new programs, events, trainings and services.
6.Assist in providing community-based resources to address behavioral, mental, social, and environmental determinants of health to college students.
7.Develop and implement strategies to increase access to clinical services on college and university campuses and in surrounding areas.
8.Oversee the development and/or coordination of training programs, including peer support services and training, as well as student orientation sessions aimed at raising awareness about mental health conditions. Establish relationships with other training institutions to build training opportunities.
9.Oversee the development and management of website, social media, newsletter, resource guide, and toolkit content that includes information on mental health resources available on campuses at the local, state, and national levels.
10.Assist in identifying sources of funding, preparing program budgets, and supervising the expenditure of funds.
11.Responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and logistics for ICC TAC events, including registration, purchasing of services and supplies, marketing, evaluation and assessment.
12.Provide regular reports to the Executive Director and to the education work group members to assess program benchmarks and outcomes.
13.Assist with the coordination of ECHO/IECHO training and events.
14.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
RESEARCH (10%)
15.Research and assess gaps in behavioral health resources and needs in institutions of higher education in Illinois. Assist the Executive Director in developing programs, trainings, and events to address these gaps.
16.Research best practices and develop stigma-reducing strategies and communications to learners, faculty, and staff on campuses throughout the state.
TEACHING (10%)
17.Obtain training and/or certifications to complete job tasks, including but not limited to Mental Health First Aid and QPR Gatekeeper training.
SERVICE (5%)
18.Serve on University, SIU HealthCare, and external committees and work groups as deemed appropriate to the functioning of the position.
19.Demonstrate, by actions, commitment to the mission and the behavioral standards of SIU School of Medicine. Provide excellent service to both internal and external partners through collaboration and partnership, compassion and respect, integrity and accountability, diversity and inclusion, as well as continuous learning and improvement.
