The CENTER for Human Services, a leading provider of behavioral health care services, is seeking a Mentoring and Peer Support Services Specialist. (Full-Time)
This position shall assist individuals aged 10 – 25 years old by providing empathetic support and guidance to clients toward recovery strategies in their day-to-day lives, with the goal of successfully completing probation and reducing recidivism.
Responsibilities
- Shall be familiar with and supportive of the domains of Advocacy, Professional Responsibility, Mentoring, and Recovery Support utilized within the program
- Shall assist individuals in building resilience by accessing education, training, and work experiences to assist in reducing recidivism
- Works closely with court services and probation.
- Shall demonstrate knowledge of community systems/resources for recovery services
- Shall maintain their own recovery processes and develop an action plan for their own mental, emotional, physical, and social health

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) designation within two years of hire
- Personal experience in recovery from lived experience with mental illness and/or a substance use disorder
- Willingness and ability to engage in self-disclosure to assist in treatment
- Passion to help others with their recovery
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must have reliable transportation and valid Illinois driver’s license with full coverage auto insurance
Salary Range: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
