Our substance use prevention recovery program delivers evidence-based treatment, counseling, and relapse prevention services for individuals recovering from substance use disorders.
Job Scope: This role is a supervisor for Substance Use, Gambling, and DUI Services and is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and daily operations of all related programs. This position ensures high-quality, evidence-based care for individuals with substance use and co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders through clinical supervision, program coordination, direct service delivery and regulatory compliance. The supervisor provides leadership to program staff through hiring, training, and supervision; manages clinical operations, productivity, and documentation standards; and ensures integration of services across behavioral health programs, including coordination with medical providers for MAR. The role also includes maintaining community partnerships, facilitating interagency collaboration, and supporting agency quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes and service accessibility.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations, development, and quality of the Substance Use, Co-Occurring, Gambling, and DUI programs, ensuring delivery of effective and integrated services.
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to program staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
- Maintain a small clinical caseload, providing individual, group, and intensive outpatient services, assessments, treatment planning, and crisis intervention as needed.
- Ensure compliance with DHS Rule 2060 and The Joint Commission (and other regulatory bodies) including timely documentation, quality assurance, and utilization review activities.
- Oversee client admissions, discharges, and waitlist management, ensuring smooth coordination of care across programs.
- Collaborate with internal programs to address co-occurring mental health and substance use needs, including coordination with medical providers for MAR and tobacco cessation.
- Provide ongoing staff training, clinical guidance, and policy/procedure updates to promote best practices and ensure staff competency.
- Facilitate team meetings, case consultations, and program performance monitoring to ensure quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners, referral sources, and interagency collaborators.
- Support data collection, reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with agency leadership.

- Knowledgeable regarding screening for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, withdrawal symptoms, co-occurring mental health issues and danger to self or others. Stays current on trends, including medication assisted recovery, participates in continuing professional development.
- Provides a full range of clinical services including assessment, counseling, crisis and referral services. Applies accepted criteria for diagnosis of substance use disorders. Develops treatment plans that address clinical needs and reflects client input and concerns.
- Knowledge of human development across cultures and across the life cycle, as applicable to the clinical population served.
- Effective and courteous relationships throughout the workplace, communicates and positively interacts very well with diverse populations. Demonstrates adherence to ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
- Understands the importance of excellent community relationships, builds networks effectively and with purpose.
- Ability to value diversity, accept differences, apply cultural knowledge, and adapt to different cultural contexts.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required; LCSW or LCPC licensure required.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or program management experience in substance use or co-occurring treatment settings.
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in substance use and mental health fields.
- Knowledge of DHS Rule 2060, ASAM criteria, and evidence-based treatment approaches for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and support interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Valid driver’s license, automobile, insurance and a willingness to travel to satellite locations and transport clients as necessary.
Schedule
- Monday – Thursday, 10:45am – 9:15pm, 40 hours/week; some flexibility in schedule
