
Position Title: Recovery Support Manager

Status: Full-time salaried
Pay: $50K - $65K depending on experience

Position Description:
The Recovery Support Manager oversees the recovery support programs at NAMI McHenry County. This includes peer support, support groups, support classes, and support events.
The Recovery Support Manager will manage the recovery support staff, who provide peer support, run support groups, and run support classes. The Recovery Support Manager will provide regular training and support for the staff, and will serve as an expert resource when issues arise. Previous experience with successfully managing staff is required. Previous experience managing peers or other individuals in recovery is desired.
The Manager should have experience working with individuals with mental health challenges, although we are open to the right candidate with other relevant management experience in human services or a related field. Personal lived experience as an individual with a mental health condition and/or family member is required. The Manager must have an understanding of peer support and either have or be willing to obtain a relevant certification (CRSS, CPRS, or similar) within one year of hire. The manager will be trained in NAMI signature programs, including support groups and classes, in order to support staff and assist with leading programs as needed.
The Recovery Support Manager should be extremely organized and have experience with program management and program implementation. Experience with building standard operating procedures and program manuals is highly desired. The manager will play a large role in building out new programs for NAMI MCH, including the Living Room (walk-in peer support for individuals in crisis) and the Drop-In Center (community center for individuals in recovery). We are seeking a manager who can collaborate with leadership to bring this vision to life.
The Manager must be passionate about ensuring quality services -- we are looking for someone who is committed to ensuring their staff uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. In addition, the Manager must be very comfortable with technology, and have the ability to quickly learn new systems, such as an EHR system. The Manager should have a thorough understanding of MS Office/G Suite products.

The Manager must be excited to roll up their sleeves and take initiative in creating new processes and procedures throughout the organization.
As most of NAMI’s groups and classes are in the evenings, the typical hours for this role are M-F 12pm - 8pm, with one or two Saturdays per month. Ability to be flexible with your schedule is required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Recovery Support Oversight & Growth
Oversee the recovery support programs at NAMI, and help grow new programs such as the Living Room and Drop-In programs
Ensure programs are fully staffed, work to find subs when needed, and personally act as a sub for all programs when no other staff or facilitators are available
Ensure the quality and fidelity of all programs through regular drop-ins
Recruit new facilitators and volunteers in order to expand services, and support these facilitators and volunteers with ongoing feedback and training
Oversee the master scheduling for all staffing and recovery support services, including support groups, workshops, classes, events, and mobile peer support
Act as the liaison with the clinical supervisor and ensure meetings are productive and effective
Quality and Fidelity
Oversee the database system to ensure that all data is entered accurately and timely
Ensure client surveys are completed regularly
Ensure recovery support programs follow all mandated laws and regulations, including HIPAA and Mental Health Board standards
Work with the Executive Director to develop standard operating procedures for recovery support to ensure quality and fidelity
Regularly measure services against evidence-based standards to ensure program fidelity
Staff Management
Directly supervise recovery support staff and interns, including providing regular feedback, reviewing timesheets, reviewing case notes, and completing annual performance reviews
Train new staff and provide ongoing training to all recovery support staff
Understand the workload of staff and recommend new hires when applicable to the Executive Director
Assist staff with managing their schedules

Qualifications
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required
CRSS or similar certification, or be willing to complete within one year of hire
NAMI certifications in Connections and Family Support Group preferred, or be willing to complete within one year of hire
4+ years working with families and clients with mental health challenges or in another related human services role
Lived experience as an individual with a mental health condition and/or family member required
Experience with peer support and NAMI preferred
Staff management experience required
Program management experience required

Able to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and external stakeholders
Ability to multi task and adhere to timelines set forth for quality management
Physical Abilities
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to lift and/or move at least 10 pounds using proper body mechanics.
Visual acuity to read a computer screen and other documents.
Ability to utilize the telephone and respond to callers.
