Counselor   Part Time Position  Evening and Saturday

Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) Other Behavioral Health Counselor (MSW)    Part Time Position Evening and Saturday   DCFS clearance required.

 Duties:  
          Group and Individual sessions to mandated Clients   Counsel patients individually, or in group sessions.

·         Develop patient treatment plans and conduct continued stay review. 

·         Provide patient intakes (assessment), treatment planning, case coordination, staffing, aftercare planning and discharge.

·         Provide direct clinical service to a full caseload weekly.  Counsel patients individually, or in group sessions.

·         Review and evaluate patients’ progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans. 

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience Required; Experience in/with substance use, PAIP Programs, Gambling treatment, behavioral healthcare and/or community engagement relations encouraged to apply. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC) required, or able to obtain within allotted time of hire date.  MSW or higher with Clinical Supervision to meet your clinical hours for licensure.

A MSW  Counselor II will be a member of our Youth  (17 to 26) Behavior Services team who provides individual, family, and group therapy; mental health evaluation; treatment planning; case management, and case consultation services to youth clients struggling with substance abuse and Trauma  along with their families  Provides services in office and community settings.  Provides consultation and education to community groups. Provides phone screenings for admission to the program.   Competently works with clients with coexisting disorders including substance abuse.   

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced working with youth struggling with substance use.
  • Experienced working with clients who have experienced trauma.
  • Pay attention to detail to maintain timely and accurate records for all clients.

Schedule: 20 hours a week – late afternoon and evening.

  • Work hours are flexible Monday-Friday with the flexibility to do some work remotely. 

Essential Functions 

  • Provides direct services to clients including individual and group treatment. 
  • Maintains regular contact with an active caseload. 
  • Facilitates with clients and collaborates with the treatment team to develop, review, and update treatment goals and referrals both internally and externally.  
  • Attends staffing with schools, justice, community agencies, and others, as necessary. 
  • Performs initial evaluations and assessments of potential clients regarding their appropriateness for participation in the program.  
  • Takes responsibility for training in and documenting clinical chart requirements to meet program and state standards. 

Education

  • Associate’s degree and five (5) years’ experience in behavioral sciences, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of experience in behavioral sciences, or
  • Master’s degree in behavioral sciences and no experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
